Here is how it works:

You have probably heard of performance EPROM chips. Their chips consist of a stock computer program that has been altered to inject more fuel into the engine under acceleration. Timing curves are commonly also adjusted consequently. These chips can be found to be quite effective, but also pricey as you not only need the chip, but also a socketing kit. You then need to do some soldering on your computer board, which can damage it and cause it to malfunction. On the other hand, this 'piggy back' electronic resistor device will alter the fuel and timing curves in a very similar way as the EPROM chip would, but without even opening the ECU. How can it do that? By fooling your computer and letting it think that you are sucking air at a different temperature. Your computer will respond with increased power!

By tricking the computer, we are able to make the reading of the computer shift to the right, which will make it think it is under heavier load and increase the power. You have the proof right there! You can either buy an EPROM chip, as explained further up or even get a bigger system that will control your engine, or you can simply keep that hard earned money and install this little device. You have nothing to lose!


If your vehicle is equipped with electronic fuel injection, it will. 99% of cars manufactured after in or after 1988 are equipped with a fuel injection. It will however not work on turbocharged vehicles

Als ik dit zo lees, is het geen chip, maar een 'piggy back' zoals ze het zelf omschrijven.
En dat werkt alleen maar op een volledig management systeem (ECU).
Je ECU wordt gewoon belazerd door dat ding. De ECU kan nooit meer doen dan dat ie al kon.
Stel dat in een auto de ECU al dicht tegen zijn grenswaarden aan zit, zal zo'n ding nooit werken, want laat hooguit -door electronisch bedrog- je ECU over de normale waarden heen werken, tot aan de fysieke grens.
Echte chiptuning (dus eprom herprogrammering met of zonder CPU vervanging) verlegt ook de fysieke grenswaarden.

Volgens mij was er op een oud antiek gecensureerd forum (iets van een club of zo) ook al eens zo'n discussie. (divadi?)

In een grijs verleden hebben we het er al 'ns over gehad, geloof ik ja, maar ik weet niet wat een Piggy-back met een B200/230F computer doet en of het effect heeft. Ik kan me voorstellen dat je de computer wel dusdanig kan foppen dat 'ie de ontsteking wat vervroegt (bij computergestuurde ontsteking dan natuurlijk; LH Jetronic 2.4 of zoiets had dat geloof ik; die met BDP sensor vanaf '89?!) of wat meer brandstof inspuit, maar dat kun je pas beoordelen als je het geprobeerd hebt...
Zit er geen "geen resultaat - geld terug" garantie op zo'n ding?!

Bij een compleet hergeprogammeerde Eprom kun je de complete karakteristiek aanpassen en kun je alles naar je hand zetten, maar da's een heel ander en veel kostbaarder verhaal dan dit.

Die 215 pk is zwaar overdreven. 200 is misschien wel haalbaar, maar de 13C is erg klein, en de standaard uitlaat is dan ook niet meer geweldig.
